The 200th inclusion was registered August 20th by prof. Hongyu Zhang, First Hospital Affiliated to Chongqing medical University, China

We congratulate Professsor Hongyu Zhang, local PI in the First Hospital affiliated to Chongqing Medical University (FHA-CQMU) on joining the COLOR III trial.
In China mainland there are currently 6 sites open for inclusion of patients in the global RCT. With Sun Yat-sen Cancer Center Taipei and Queen Mary hospital HongKong and soon sites from Japan, Korea and Singapore Asia is contributing significantly to COLOR III!
Ospedale Agnelli in Pinerolo Italy isopen for inclusion. We congratulate and thank Prof. Andrea Muratore and dr Patrizia Marsanic with joining the interntaional trial. We eagerly await the first Italian patient in Color III!
As first center in Hongkong Queen Mary hospital will be able to include patients for the randomization phase of COLOR III. We congratuate and thank Local PI prof Dominic Foo for joining the collaboration!
In addition to Beijing Friendship Hospital and Sun Yat-sen Cancer Center Taipei four more centers are open for accrual. Queen Mary HK and FAH Chongqing expected to open this month! See a report of the round trip we made end of may 2019.

Another international expert who joins COLOR III to provide the surgical community with robust evidence on TaTME versus lap TME
We highly appreciate that even in expert centers such as Hospital clinic, the need for audited randomized data with long term follow up is requiered before widespread dissemination of this new technique can occur in a safe way. Patient safety in terms of long-term outcome is key!
Last week three potential COLOR III sites passed the pretrial surgical Quality Assurance:
As soon as IRB approval is obtained and other paperwork finalized these centers will open for patient accrual!
